Thankful

This is a little project I made with the girls! Well mostly I made it, but they stamped a few leaves and picked out what they were thankful for! They were so excited to help because they are usually not allowed in Titus' room where all my stuff is! The card is a card I made for my sisters 8th wedding anniversary! It is late in getting to her, but I wanted to be able to send something with it! I used stuff I bought from Torendi to make, I wish I would have bought some of there fabric because the modern 8th anniversary is linen or lace, it would have been nice to add that to the card. I guess since it is already late, I can still do it!! Bex, if you are reading this act surprised when you get this in the mail!!!

School and crafting!

Marlie has been bring home a lot of stuff from school that I need to hang up. Homework chart and sharing schedule, and a few art projects that all need to be  on display. I took an old cork board I had and made it for her work. The Marlie's work tag was made with Torendi's September kit of the month and a paper packet from the store! I love the stuff they are coming out with, so FUN!! Marlie helped me make the thumb tacks by gluing chip board to the push pins! I am going to paint the border eventually, but need to find the right color!!

Procrastinate!

I have always been a procrastinator, my whole Senior speech was on the subject. It hasn't let me down much, but it seems that I have been had! I waited to long to purchase Marlie's school supplies and now, I only have half of the list to send to school with her. Should I pretend we are poor and then forget about it, or should I be a responsible adult and send a note?! Kinding af course, the supplies will be there by the end of the week. I honestly forgot it was Labor day weekend or I would have went sooner.
Marlie is super excited to be starting 1st grade this year. Her teacher is Miss White and she is doing a pirate theme in her class all year! I hope they get to dress up at some point! Mars is stoked to be at school all day, but I am thinking she doesn't quite understand what that means yet. The first week of school she is going to be very hungry because she talks so much and doesn't eat her lunch at lunch time. I am looking forward to getting on a schedule again, I sure am growing up fast!

Sci-Fi

I pride myself in being a dork, I happily declare it to all who meet me! But I am a big fake! I hardly ever watched Sci-Fi (well at least not willingly) until I met Jeremy. I can not believe that I never let myself indulge in something that I have grown to love so much! Jeremy recently got me hooked on Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and then of course I had to go back and watch the Terminator movies with Arnold in them! I rally liked them, but now I have been dreaming in Terminator!! I remember Jeremy looking at me in disbelief when we were dating when I told him I had never seen all the Star Wars movies or Matrix. He promptly sat me down and put them in the VCR(hehe) and enlightened me to Sci-Fi greatness!! I have always been a fan af Fantasy like Lord Of the Rings, so it really didnt surprise me that I loved it! I actually love most things! I think the reason it too me so long to discover it was because none of my friends and family that I hung around with liked it so we never watched it! I usually did what the group did! What I have found, to my sadness, is that most of the really good Sci-Fi shows get cancelled, why is that? I still have a lot of catching up to do, and my husband still cant believe that I havnt seen most stuff. Battlestar Galactica now, Trekky convention in the future!!

Jamie Renee

Jamie is 3! I cant believe how much she has changed in the last 2 months. The biggest milestone being that she has given up her pacifier for good, willingly with out a fit!! I thought it was going to take me forever to take that thing away from her. She only used it at night for the last 6 months, but it was still such an eye sore for me to see my big girl with it in her mouth, but I liked the sleep, so in the end that won out. On her birthday we put all of her pacifiers( or as she calls them fires") in a box and the pacifier fairy can and got them and left her a Hello Kitty PEZ dispenser and a box of candy!! So glad it is done with!
For her birthday we went down to the Seaside Aquarium and then the next day had a little party for her! I had the kids do a craft project instead of play games. We tried to play games last year and it didn't go over so well! I love that Joanna has a dollar section full of fun little crafts for kids to do. The ones they did are wooden magnets that you color with markers!!

Recipe- Cream Scones

I took these scones to a get together and a few ladies asked for the recipe, so here it is!
*Cream Scones
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 Tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cups whipping cream
*Icing-
1 cup powdered sugar
2-3 tablespoons cream

1) Heat Oven to 400. Lightly grease cookie sheet
2) In large bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well blended. Add whipping cream all at once, stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.
3) On lightly floured surface knead dough 6 or 7 times until smooth. Divide dough in half. Pat each half into 6-inch round; cut each round into 6 wedges. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
4) Bake 10 to 13 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 5 minutes. Meanwhile in a small bowl mix powdered sugar and enough cream for drizzling over warm scones.

My friend gave me this recipe and she has added so many different yummy things to them. Some of the ones she has brought me were made with dried cranberries, candied ginger, and chocolate chips. I made them last with some lemon juice int he icing and they were very good.
It is nice to find a simple recipe that is so good. Her little boy is allergic to eggs and can never have any of the yummy stuff, so she was very excited to find this recipe to make him, and it has turned into a favorite of all of ours! Enjoy, and have fun with this recipe. If you add anything different let me know so I can try it too! I wish I had a picture to post of these, but they are always gone to fast;)

Scrapbook pages

I have been working on a few scrap book pages. One is the January page for a Calender I am making for My sister for Christmas. I know its only March, but if I make one each month than it is more likely to get finished! The other is Jamie's Valentines page, well one of them. I sewed the pieces and pictures on and ran out of pink thread so it isn't finished yet. I really like the look of the sewn edges. Jamie is my girly girl so I used a lot of Pink! Summer gave me the paper so I have no idea where it is from!

I made a practice quilt. It turned out pretty good I think, the lady at the quilt store even said so. I have to get a walking foot for my sewing machine. My machine didn't like the fabric on the back to much, there is a 6 inch spot in the back that is a bunch of bunched thread. That is why it is a practice quilt, Titus doesn't seem to mind though!! I am learning, and am going to take a begginer quilt class next month!

Titus Jame Annat

Titus James is almost 2 weeks old so I finally have a second to catch up on some reading and writing! I just wanted to let you know about the little guy and post a picture of a few scrapbook pages I made for hi first pictures(and pictures of him too of course). He was born January 5th at 4:01 am, weighed 11.2 lbs and was 23 1/2 inches. I think that is all the info. My husband and I decided that we were done having kids, so I got my tubes tied and am recovering really well. I thought I was going to be down and out for a few weeks but I was up and around in about 5 days!! I think birthing an 11 pound baby was harder on me than the little surgery. God Bless, I know he sure has blessed me!

After Christmas update

Yay, I have a new keyboard so I can update my blog! I was using two keyboards to make up for the keys that didn't work on both of them!!!

So Christmas is over and boy was it a good one! The Lord blessed me greatly with my sister! Micheal and Becca were supposed to be in Boise for Christmas but they got stuck in Seattle so Jeremy drove 5hours through ice and snow to pick them up. They got to stay for 5 whole days, which was way more than I thought they were going to be here when we first got them. I got to hold my new nephew finally, and he is so cute(and huge)!! My husband got me a new bible for Christmas which I despratly needed. My old one is 10 years old and missing the entire book of Genesis. The girls has a blast playing with their cousins and all the people that came by to say Hello to the Thompsons while they were here. This has been a pretty tough year for me and it completely redeemed itself this last few weeks. I wasnt excited at all about the Holidays but I learned that life always has a few surprises for you.
I am off to the doctor today, hope they have some good things to tell me. I only have a week and two days left, so anytime I should have a sweet baby boy in my hands!!
